The PPM Technologies Continuous Oil Applicators deliver precise, repeatable spray patterns with a variety of light to medium viscosity liquids, oils and oil/water solutions. This simple design reduces parts needs and maximizes reliability.
The system uses a non-pulsing positive displacement pump and low pressure (1-2psi) air to accurately atomize ingredients. High performance occurs even at volumes as low as 1% weight pick up—ideal for water-based coatings or diet products requiring low oil volumes. Optional systems are available using plant air and no-air application.
The complete system includes one pump, one blower, one spray manifold and one controller. Most traditional systems incorporate additional parts to include piston pumps, “O” rings, seals, wipers, filters, lubricants and regulators. With value engineering practices, the design was simplified and part requirements reduced. The user-friendly design and controls increase production yield, minimize ingredient waste and maximize process efficiency.
The Continuous Oil Applicator easily slides in mounts for easy placement in a drum or over a conveyor. The unit includes a standard 5-gallon (13 liter) stainless steel surge tank with level sensors and a single pump with various configurations replaces an array of individual pumps.
All variables from air pressure, ingredient feed rates, and pump delivery pressures can be addressed from the single control panel. Control options are available from on/off switching to fully programmable recipe management.
All spray nozzles and support plumbing are enclosed in a stainless steel manifold. Simple quick-disconnect ports for air and ingredient lines reduce sanitation and maintenance time.
