Flexible drying system for potatoes and root vegetables

The quality of processed raw potatoes is important in the quality production of French fries.  The PPM Technologies dryer system provides increased flexibility in effective drying of product resulting in improved fat absorption, color and crispness in the final product. 

The belt dryer module is divided into two zones to optimize air flow.  The air flow direction both up stream or down stream is changed in each zone.  The dryer incorporates a counter flow fresh water air flow to keep the product evenly dried.

The unique airflow and heating system require no side channels making more effective use of floor space.  The design offers a symmetric airflow with low pressure drop lowering overall electrical consumption. 

The eye-link belt construction with small contact points to the product and the effective knife scraper minimizes the stickiness of product to the belt.  In addition, the belts may be equipped with rotating brushes and water spray for improved cleaning.  The dryer provides easy access for cleaning via doors on one side of the dryer than can be fully opened.  The cabinet, frame and belt are constructed of stainless steel.
